My wife, Kathy Sheehan, and I have been delving deeper and deeper into digital photography. A couple of months ago, Kathy flew to Boston to take pictures at our niece's wedding. She had a good friend who is a professional photographer (Donna Conner - Photoface.com) from New Jersey come and shoot the wedding with her. They shot nearly 1500 pictures!
When she got home, we had to go through and weed them out and come up with a manageble number of photos. We also had to deal with color-correcting them, and got lost in color hell. Fortunately Alan Sanders came over and helped us calibrate our monitors and help us with color management.
Some of the wedding photos can be seen on Kathy's website.
This month I included 2 articles about digital photography, both from the same author, Charles Maurer. I found these articles to be very insightful, but he does have biases, so you may not agree with everything he says.
This month's meeting will feature a presentation by John Mortenson on digital video. If you've seen John before, you'll know it's not to be missed. If you've not seen him, don't miss this chance. He is probably the most fun presenter we've ever had.
Enjoy the issue.
